“i have shared something deeply personal with you- do you know what it is?
will you ever know what it is?”

leading on from my previous project, h e l l o  w o r l d explores the use of body parts to interpret the written word in new and creative ways through the medium of visual poetry. inspired by Jon Baldessari’s Binary Code series and Jon Furnival’s Babel series, this project evolved from preliminary attempts at visual poetry to a deeply personal series of works, one that challenged me to create artwork with layers and layers of emotion- something I haven’t done before.
i have created prints and oil paintings, i have spoken into the canvas, bastardised my own work through copying it over and over again, and then bastardised the copies. i have projected onto the work, i have been the projected work, and i have experimented with photography in ways i have not done before.
this project was created during quarantine, and so some photographs are not the highest quality. nevertheless, i hope you enjoy my work :)
